For my first, wildly anticipated podcast, I am going to explain to you the art of making the perfect spaghetti sauce. Italian cooking is especially meaningful to me since it brings back memories of times spent on Sundays and holidays in crowded kitchens with boisterous, funny women making simple dishes with aromas that could knock you out. I hope you enjoy the recipe and the side explanations that go with it.

I love this podcast...and believe it or not I have always wanted to learn how to make my own sauce! Thanks for the recipe! :-)
Hi Laura! I really enjoyed listening to your podcast about how you make your sauce. I make my own too (that's actually one of the few things I still make rather regularly) and I liked hearing the similarities and differences between our recipes. (I only use Red Pack too! But I use their whole tomatoes and blend them myself first.) Your "secret" also made me realize why my sauce never tastes like my grandmother's did(the South Philly Italians call it "gravy"). Not only can't I bring myself to add the fat to the sauce, I (horror of horrors) bake my meatballs in the oven now. Listening to your podcast, brought me back to the smells and tastes of my childhood (and reminded me that nothing tastes better than a just-fried meatball!)
